What is your WHY? What lights your fire and makes you do what you are doing.
I am deeply passionate about sports, education and about life in general.
Legacy. What do you want to be remembered for?
I'd like to be remembered as a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. I'd like to be remembered as a humble and relentless competitor who took incredible pride in inspiring and empowering others. I would like people to remember my team's role in finding research-based solutions to better protect our children, athletes, and our military.
What are some of the biggest mistakes you see young athletes making, what are some that you made that looking back you would have done differently?
Biggest mistakes are actually being made by parents and the self-proclaimed "experts" who have never played the game having kids playing far too many games, for far too long every year, using grossly outdated development platforms and playing surfaces.
What do you like most about the PX3 AMP Program? Why is this program so important for kids?
The most important thing the AMP program teaches kids is confidence, accountability to themselves and their teammates, how to be strong, how to be safe, how to be smart, all the while building a life-long love for sports.
Who is the person, coach, or institution that told you to quit or did not believe in you. Why?
Had several NCAA programs tell me I would never play at the Division 1 level.
What are some of the biggest obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are?
The biggest obstacles I have always had to overcome is standing up for what is right rather than what is popular.
Who is the person/coach who made the biggest difference in your life or believed in you when others did not?
I've had some incredible coaches throughout my career, across all sports, they have all contributed to who I am today and taught me great things - some, what to do, others, what not to do - but I have learned from each and every one of them.
